Nice, but the Ergo is better

I read a lot of reviews while searching for a baby carrier. I chose the Lillebaby because of the excellent reviews I read about it regarding it’s light weight and multiple options for carrying baby. I have now used it at least 10 times and there are pros and cons. The pros are that it is lightweight, has a variety of ways to carry the baby (although we have only used the front carry with baby facing forward or backward#, it has two small pockets on the front for keys, gloves, etc., and it has nice padded straps. The cons are that it is rather hard to adjust the straps and the material is not very thick and strong.

Recently, I bought a used Ergo carrier in order to have a second carrier because my husband and I were tired of having to adjust the straps back and forth between us. If I were to do it all over again, I would buy the Ergo instead of the Lillebaby because the Ergo has the exact same design, but it is made of a thicker, sturdier material. One of the adjustable snaps for the pads on the shoulder straps of the Lillebaby carrier ripped right out of the material when we were trying to adjust the straps for my husband, so while this does not affect the safety of the carrier, it just makes me reckon the whole thing is not very strong. Additionally, the Ergo straps are about twice as wide and have thicker padding which is more comfortable, especially for a larger person. The Ergo is only $5 more than the Lillebaby, so it is well worth it for sturdier construction. And it’s even cheaper if you find a excellent used one to buy! ;)

    Absolutely Like It

My wife and I like this carrier. We haven’t used any other structured carriers, only a Moby and a Katan(also fantastic), so I can’t say if it’s better than an ergo or anything.

The Lillebaby is very simple to use with a small practice. Our daughter likes being carried in it. Depending on the situation we sometimes carry her facing forward, sometimes facing inward. She seems to like both ways. It does take a few seconds to convert from one way to the other because you have to pull the waist belt out of two loop on bottom of the carrier to narrow the seat for forward facing, but it’s not hard, and it really only takes a few seconds.

When adjusted properly, the weight is mostly on your hips as it should be, not on your shoulders. The material is nice and end seems like quality. We’ve carried our girl around the house, shopping, through airports, etc, and it’s been fantastic.

As far as the review about their child falling out the bottom, I don’t reckon they read the instructions or something. I don’t believe that is even possible if worn properly. The waist belt is similar to a camping backpacks waist belt. If it is buckled securely around your waist, there is no opening in the bottom. The elastic that the reviewer referred to is simply a safety. The belt buckle passes through an elastic band and then clicks into the opposite buckle so no force should be the elastic when buckled.

Anyways, we like it, it works well for us and does what it says it supposed to do.

Incredibly comfortable for both me and baby. Keeps the weight on my hips instead of my shoulders. Like it.

    Like the Ergo but BETTER!

I LIKE THIS CARRIER! Before I bought the EveryWear, I was using an Eddie Bauer sling and a Snugli but all the weight was on one shoulder and my 12 lb. baby was getting too heavy to carry for long periods of time. I tried a Bjorn and liked it, but knew that it would only be a matter or time before my daughter would get too heavy for that, too.

I was recommended the Ergo and the Beco since they can be used on the front or back and is supposed to be better for baby, too. My daughter has been so used to riding facing outward that I wasn’t sure how she would like facing me. Along came the Lillebaby EveryWear! Not only does it have the ergonomic hip support, but it also has the option for the baby to face outward (an option that the Ergo/Beco doesn’t have). And although this shouldn’t matter, in my opinion, it’s also a more attractive looking carrier than the Ergo.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to wear the baby in front of you, but it is more hard in the backpack position. I would recommend practicing with someone behind you to offer support. I haven’t tried the hip position yet but I like that it’s an option. I also like the detachable sleephood which is also nice to shade the baby from sunlight. When I go for a small walk, the front pocket holds my essentials: cell phone & keys. It’s also folds easily and isn’t too bulky for when I need to slip it under my stroller for those just-in-case moments when my daughter would rather ride on me than in her wheels.

She falls asleep very easily in the Everywear, especially when facing me. I don’t have her facing outward as much as I thought I would since she seems more comfortable in the seat when she faces me. In fact, my babygirl likes the Lillebaby so much that she smiles when she sees me putting it on… and on a few occasions, she has cried when I remove her from it!

This carrier might not have as many fans as the Ergo, but it hasn’t been around as long. I reckon Lillebaby took what everyone likes about the Ergo, and improved upon its complaints. If you get this carrier, you’ll want to take it EVERYWEAR!

Awesome carrier- lightweight, packable and versatile

Just got my carrier and so far both baby and I like it! I have tried the Bjorn, the Ergo and the Peanut Shell (the peanut shell is HOPELESS so if you’re considering that, save your money! I can see why it was handed down to me with such enthusiasm now). I like that it converts to 4 positions and you can make the seat narrow or wide depending on baby’s size and their position. That’s one thing I don’t like about the Ergo. Sometimes the baby’s legs are spread so wide it looks painful to me. It’s superlight, not the rough bulky canvas that the Ergo is made out of. My 5 month ancient fits perfectly in it (16.5 lbs and 26″ long). We tested it out as we ran back and forth working around the house and my back wasn’t killing me like it did with the Baby Bjorn. I’m petite (5′4″) and the Bjorn would never sit correctly on my body or hips. It would always ride up and I finished up carrying all the weight in my back. OUCH! Not so with this carrier. I can fit is snugly onto my hips and the weight really stays there. It has handy pockets which are perfect for keys, cell phone and wallet. The only thing I would like is a drool wrap thingy on the strap…but I’m sure I can buy one or do with a makeshift one. I also noticed that there were loose strings from the seams, one in particular was slightly coming undone, but I can easily reinforce with a few stitches. Oh and the chest/back strap is a bit tough to clip on, but with some practice I’m sure it’ll be fine. I am now much less stressed about my upcoming flight. I feel much better knowing that baby will be safe and secure in this carrier!

    Fantastic light weight carrier

As a first time mother and a compulsive experimenter of all “cool” and functional baby products, I have to admit that I am now on my forth infant/ toddler carrier.

I have been using the Lille baby carrier for a couple of months now and I have to admit that I like it. It has united the components that I liked from the other carriers and even added some upgrades.

Some features that work best for me are:

    - The shoulder straps are narrow, allowing me place on a jacket over the carrier without the bulk. As a petit woman (5′3), the shoulder straps sit on my body, rather than slipping to the side. Once this carrier is on, it feels comfortable and never moves out of place.

    - Her weight sits my hips, allowing me to take hour + long hikes with a 24 lb baby with ease. I have hiked with her on the front (front and back facing) and on my back. The different positions have been fantastic for when my daughter gets fussy. As soon as we change up the position she relaxes. I have even had her on my side, allowing me to “carry” her without the weight on my arms.

    - Lightweight but very durable. This is an simple carrier to use in the hot weather, and it is less bulky for packing. It fits under the stroller, in the diaper bag and even in a purse.

Overall, I am very satisfied and know that with the next child, I can stick with one carrier.

Disclaimer: As a professional baby planner, I received this carrier without being charged. My opinions are honest and right to my experience. I have already made recommendations for this carrier to friends.

I like this carrier! (My stroller is dusty because of it!)
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Humm, I haven’t had any of the problems the other reviewer had. It’s right if you don’t really clip the belt on, then it won’t stay around your waist (duh). Maybe in a future model they can use a different type of fastener; but, I personally have no issues with it.

In fact, I use this carrier all the time. It’s really made my strollers get way LESS use–most of the time I take my now-six-month-ancient on walks, I just throw on the EveryWear because it’s simpler than using the stroller and I honestly reckon he likes seeing the world from a higher point of view than the stroller. (Plus it gives Mom a better workout too!)

We traveled all around the country and to Europe using this carrier. I like that you can varry the carrying positions and also like the fact that it has built in pockets for a diaper and travel wipes (and I can tuckin my wallet and cell phone and I’m excellent to go). It’s also very compact when I want to pack it away… I looked into the Ergo first but I didn’t really like the canvas fabrics they used (and you can’t get the forward facing option either). Definately pleased with the buy!

My baby fell out from the bottom…
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
My husband and I always wonder why baby products seem to have long and complex instructions. When you’re a first time parent and getting 4 hrs of interrupted sleep a night the last thing you have the brains to do is to figure out how to place together something complicated while your baby is crying his eyes out.

That’s why I was attracted to this carrier. It seemed simple and had very simple instructions. it also offered multiple positions for the baby including facing the infant out which the Ergo baby does not allow. We also kept reading about how the Bjorn is terrible for the baby’s spine so this product seemed perfect. It was too excellent to be right!

I place the baby in the carrier and fastened the waist belt which is a standard female to male clip The kind on a back pack. The belt is adjustable but is only secured by a flimsy elastic band. i carefully followed the instructions but no matter what the “secure” band wouldn’t keep the belt in place and eventually slip loose and the baby would slip out from the bottom.

This is not a excellent product and if you value your baby’s life I would never buy this product.
