I bought this for our second baby, and I like it! its one of the best front carriers I have ever owned. I owned a few different ones for our first child and all them dissappointed.

I gave the Baby Bjorn to my daughter-in-law for her baby shower. She was delighted and said she had been wishing she would get one. She had heard about the dependabilty and convenience it would give her.

I had the baby born and I loved it until my baby reached a certain weight. The thing is this… It says it can carry up to 25lbs, and it’s right, it can hold up to 25lbs. But the key question is can YOU carry a 25lbs baby? My baby was born huge and grew huge, but I’m only 5’3″. When the baby started to reach 12lbs, it really started to kill my back. The weight hangs mostly from your shoulders and the place that hurts most is the middle of your back. My baby was nearly 12lbs at 3months, so from then on I started using it less and less. One day I came by lille baby carrier, and I wished I had known about it sooner. It comfortable for both baby and mother and is very versatile and worth the price, but it’s not as pretty and one thing that was nice about the bjorn was that if you had a sleeping newborn, you could unhook and lay the baby down without waking the baby. At 0-2 months that is a very helpful quality since, it’s hard to soothe such young babies.
So please reckon about the reality that if you buy this, you will most likely use it for few months. If carrying a baby is very vital to your lifestyle such as myself(urban lifestyle) and need to carry a baby until they can stand on their own while you get a stroller packed and unpacked then you should really consider a ergo or lille and safe yourself some money and back pain.
I ignored reviews that complained about this aspect of baby bjorns — the fact that you can only wear it up to few months. I really shouldn’t have. Now it makes sense. The maximum weight you can carry would be proportionate to the ratio of wearer and child. So a 12lb baby is too much for me to wear but not so for my husband. So yeah, they can write on the product that you can carry upto 25lbs, but it’s misleading.

I have 4 kids so I have used a lot of different front carriers in the time I have had my babies and This one has been my favorite. It is very comfortable and it never got uncomfortable on me. I used it from the time my daughter was born until she was 9 months. Course I only used it when she was 9 months for small trips where I forgot the stroller, but still she fit in there perfectly and wasn’t uncomfortable and was under the weight limit. I would certainly recommend this product to other new moms!

We’ve used this Bjorn from the time our small one was about 7 weeks ancient until now! (She’s nearly 7 months ancient.) It comfortable for me – but of course, any sling/wrap gets somewhat uncomfortable after an extended period of time. These babies aren’t feathers… It cleans up well and functions just fine. I’ve noticed that this Bjorn is a TITCH smaller in length than the original black one. Still, it works perfectly both wearing the baby inward and outward. I’d buy it again.

Stylish and simple to use, but kills your back…

Over the course of three children we have had FIVE carriers: Two slings, a Baby Bjorn, a Snugli and the Ergo Baby.
The Bjorn is certainly the best looking and simplest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it’s simple to get smaller infants into it.
My huge complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than 20 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. This is because the design keeps all the weight on your shoulders. It’s like wearing a backpack BACKWARDS!
The “Active” version has wider straps which provide additional support for a small improvement over the “Original,” but it still puts all the weight on your shoulders, pulling them forward.
If you only plot to use this when grocery shopping and reckon you’ll give it up when they’re 6 months ancient, this might be for you. If you reckon you might want to go to the park and hang out, or use it even when the kid starts to crawl, then the Ergo Baby is probably more your speed.
p.s. this is coming from a guy who is 6′, 180# and fit. My wife is smaller and far more critical of the ergonomics of this carrier.

Let the colors reflect your style

Fun, practical and very stylish. Very vital details to purchasing baby stuff. I loved picking from an array of colors that BabyBjorn has place out there. As far as functionality, I find it more usable for both mom and dad than the hot slings, which if the couple is about or over 1 ft difference in height and slight variances in body frame, you’d need 2 slings! This carrier would then be not only very practical but economically, a very smart buy. We’ve also used it’s previous versions, w/ our now older children of 9 and 7 years, and have only 5 of 5 star ratings for this product.

It is the best carrier. Like the new colors just wish you could use it as a back carrier, hence why I have two different carriers. Other then that it is fantastic!

Pros- An extremely nice product. comfortable for the parents (both my wife and I use it) and for our daughter. simple to adjust (although we are of similar body sizes) to place on and take off.
Cons- wearing in the summer, it can get uncomfortably warm. in a somewhat hotter climate (we live in northern CA) I would consider the Air version.
Beware of faulty packaging (from babyage)

I received this item from Baby Age. It was not packaged within another box. A mailing mark was slapped onto a piece of cardboard which was then taped to the box. If you are buying this for a gift, don’t bother. You cannot give this to someone in this condition. There is no way to separate the taped piece of cardboard from the box and have the package look pristine and new. Also, the box was crushed and half open by the time it made its way to my doorstep. Beware if you are ordering this product from babyage. It is their policy not to box their products, according to an email I received from them, “We do ship all of our items in their original packaging, just as the vendors ship them to us. This is noted on all of our products on Amazon. We do not receive individual boxes for these carriers.”
